Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.
Officers say they were notified late on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Police then discovered many other smeared cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Police report initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no clue as to its source; authorities are not yet cognizant of any injuries in connection with the incident," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the community for details.
An important representative commented the vandalism left him stunned and had to be solved rapidly.
"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the death of nine victims by a assailant targeting residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
